For Architects & Specifiers

Thermosticks is built to be specified. Every profile is dimensionally consistent, ThermoWood Association-standard treated, and fully documented. Below is the architect-facing resource pack. Everything is available on request email sales@stickssupply.com and we'll route it to the right person within one business day.

Specification documents

Profile drawings

Dimensional cross-sections for every Thermosticks profile TG-STriple, TG-Lap, TG-I, TG-V, RS60, D1, D1-HF, D1-AS, D1-AS2, and our Aspen dimensional sizes. Each drawing shows board dimensions, groove geometry, fastening location, and the installed shadow-line profile. Available as PDF or DWG on request.

Material specifications

Per-SKU spec sheets covering species, treatment class (Thermo-D or TMT), dimensional tolerances, moisture content, durability class, thermal expansion coefficient, and weight per square foot. Useful for drawing-set notes and material schedules.

Installation details

CAD-ready details for the six common conditions: base flashing, corner (inside and outside), window head, window jamb, window sill, and soffit transition. DWG on request.

The material itself

Thermosticks is treated by SWM Wood in Mikkeli, Finland a founding member of the International ThermoWood Association to either the Thermo-D or Thermally Modified Timber specification, depending on species. The process uses only heat and steam at 212°C. No chemicals are introduced at any stage.

Durability

Class 1 durability (EN 350), appropriate for exterior use above ground, including coastal and high-moisture applications. Rot resistance exceeds 25 years under correct installation and detailing.

Dimensional stability

Thermal modification reduces equilibrium moisture content by approximately 50% versus untreated stock. Shrinkage and swelling across seasonal RH swings is negligible typical movement is below 0.5% tangentially, which means tight joinery holds through years of service.

Fire performance

Untreated Thermowood behaves similarly to untreated softwood of the same species in fire testing. Fire-rated treatments are available through our partner network when projects require Class B or Class A ratings. Contact us for testing documentation specific to your project.

Sustainability

All Thermosticks material is sourced from responsibly managed Nordic forests via SWM Wood's supply chain. Chain-of-custody documentation ships with every order. The thermal modification process itself uses no chemicals and produces no toxic waste, only water vapor is vented. End-of-life disposal is by ordinary composting or biomass combustion, as with any untreated wood.

A full Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for ThermoWood is available from the International ThermoWood Association. We can provide project-specific documentation on request.

Pricing transparency

Unlike most Thermowood suppliers in North America, we publish list pricing directly on the product pages. For volume pricing on projects above 500 square feet, or for specification assistance, email sales@stickssupply.com.
